Kin Coffee Bar is known for specializing in coffee and matcha drinks. A huge contrast in a town full of coffee shops, Kin is unique because of it’s dark and mystical atmosphere. The shops have elements pulled from emo, hip hop, and occult themes. It’s rough, lowbrow personality is a reflection of the people who built the company and draws in many unique patrons. After doing a brand refresh, I was able to paint one of the new logos directly onto the building, as well as customized typography to complement. Painting clean, sharp lines onto an extremely textured stucco surface proved to be a difficult, yet fun, challenge.
